Silonex Brick Sealer is a ready to use transparent penetrating silane/siloxane masonry water repellent. It forms an invisible hydrophobic treatment within brick and masonry, reducing water absorption while allowing vapour movement.
Typical applications:
Water repellent treatment for face brick and masonry reducing rain driven water penetration
Assisting in the control of efflorescence (after moisture source is addressed) protecting porous brickwork from water absorption.
Application is by low pressure spray, roller or brush
Installation:
Ensure masonry is clean, dry and free of any coatings or residue
Apply by low-pressure spray to saturation (flood coat).
Allow product to penetrate, avoid runoff or ponding
Apply a second coat wet-on-wet if required for porous substrates
Coverage:
Dense facebrick: 6-8 sqm per litre
Standard clay brick: 4-6 sqm per litre
Porous / weathered brick: 2-4 sqm per litre
Note:
If brickwork contains salts or active moisture sources, these must be addressed separately. Brick Sealer reduces water absorption but does not remove embedded salts.
This product is intended to reduce liquid water ingress into exposed masonry surfaces while maintaining vapour permeability. Salt contamination and efflorescence management are separate processes abd should be assessed and treated independently of this system.
