To waterproof a planter box, thoroughly clean and prepare the interior surface and determine which waterproofing system to use. Options include Liquid and Sheet Membranes.

Preparation:
  • Clean the planter box: Remove all dirt, debris, and any old paint or sealant.
  • Smooth the surface: Sand any rough areas to ensure a smooth surface for the sealant to adhere to.
  • Address cracks and gaps: Fill any cracks or gaps with a suitable sealant or filler, such as Drizoro Maxrest fillet for concrete planters.
  • Consider drainage: Install drainage holes at the bottom of the planter box to prevent water from accumulating.
  • Prime the surface (if needed): Some sealants may require a primer coat before application.

  • Apply the sealant as per the Australian Standards
  • Apply a suitable primer
